Teachers day ( Teachers Day Essay ) is celebrated on 5th September every year, which marks the birthday of Dr. Sarevepalli Radhakrishna. Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishna was born on 5th Sept’ 1888. He was the former President of India and a scholar, teacher, philosopher and a religious thinker. He was a professor in many famed universities such as Chennai, Mysore, Benaras and Oxford.

His students wanted to celebrate his birthday, but he asked them to celebrate this day as Teachers day instead and that would make him feel more honoured. Ever since this day is dedicated to all the Teachers across the country. Dr. Radhakrishna was an outstanding teacher and philosopher. He passed away on 17th April’ 1975.

They conduct many fun filled activities in the class and even teachers participate with great enthusiasm. This also helps students understand the hard work done by teachers to teach them daily.

Many schools give awards to teachers for their contributions and hard work. Teachers are encouraged to participate in games and other cultural activities which are being conducted on this special day. Groups are made between students and teachers or teachers vs teachers. 

It is a treat to see the teachers enjoying all the activities. Students and principal of the school give speech in honor of teachers. Some schools also arrange for picnics and other activities for teachers. At the end of the day all the teachers and principal thanks all the students and promise to continue to put their efforts for building the future of students and showing them the right path.
